Serita Stevens, RN, BSN, MA, FNE, CLNC
 Serita
is a member of the International Assoc of Forensic Nurses and yearly
attends their educational seminars to keep up with the new developments
in the field giving her wide access to many experts.
She
took training in sexual assault investigations, evidence collection,
death investigations, forensic photography, criminal profiling, wound
ballistic and trauma injury as well as victim/witness interviewing.
Following her interest in justice, she became certified as a
legal nurse consultant and took courses in courtroom communications.
She
volunteers on a hot line and currently does domestic abuse counseling,
as well.
A
nurse since 1971, Serita specialized in psychiatry and mental health in
her native Chicago. She
later worked in Northwestern’s Emergency Room, where she learned
valuable skills, which transferred over to her jobs as a
medical-surgical nurse and a home health nurse. She has experience
writing policy and procedures and doing education seminars for nurses.
